The cast of Neighbours are preparing to say g’day to the UK after announcing a nationwide tour following the end of the long-running Australian soap.

Stars were originally due to stage a one-off event called Neighbours: Live in Conversation in London back in 2020 to mark Neighbours’ 35th anniversary but the date was postponed due to the pandemic.

Now the beloved series is coming to an end after 37 years, they have decided to add a further seven dates throughout the UK for March 2023.

There will be meet-and-greet opportunities and a Q&A section planned at each location.

March 8 - Edinburgh Festival Theatre

March 10 - Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

March 12 - Cardiff St David’s Hall

March 14 - London Palladium Theatre

March 16 - Birmingham Symphony Hall

March 17 - Brighton Centre

March 18 - Southampton Mayflower Theatre

Tickets will go on general sale at all venues on June 17, with a pre-sale on June 15.

"When Neighbours: Live in Conversation sold out within 24 hours, we knew that the love for the show could see it tour the UK, and there is no better time to take to the road than to mark the end and to honour its rich and lengthy history," Dean Elliott, producer at Maple Tree Entertainment, said in a statement.

"We can’t wait to put on a show that the fans will love and deserve."

Neighbours first aired in 1985 and follows the lives of those living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough.

Many stars have launched their careers off the back of it, including Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Natalie Imbruglia, Guy Pearce, and Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie.

Friday marked the final day of filming on the globally-recognised soap, with the final episode due to be broadcast in the UK on Channel 5 on August 1.

The cast posed for one final photo all together on set, with Paul Robinson actor Stefan Dennis describing it as “a melancholy day”.

Executive producer Jason Herbison said: “We all knew this day was coming but until we were here in this moment when the very last scene was filmed, it was hard to express how we would all feel.

“Of course, it is sad and tears were shed, but we’re also enormously proud. 37 years is an incredible achievement and that should be celebrated.

“We’ve also been incredibly touched by the response from our viewers all over the world. Neighbours is more than a TV show to many people.

“They see us as part of the family and we feel privileged to have been invited into their homes, and I know the legacy of Neighbours will live on for many years.”
