Neighbour warns parent to 'limit' child's time outside or they'll call the police

A parent has been threatened with police action by their neighbour if they don't 'limit' their child's time outside. In a video posted on social media, the parent shared a letter in which the neighbour says her daughter's loud playtime was upsetting their pets.

The video shared on TikTok, begins with a note hanging out of the parent's door with the words 'To Neighbour' written on it. The parent then opens the note which begins with the neighbour stating their issue with them had been a long running affair, reports Hull Live.

However, they had failed to bring it up before in the hopes that the parent would correct the problem by themselves. The note then continues stating that for a week the parent has allowed their daughter to run freely around their back garden amidst the nice weather in the area.

The neighbour alleges that the child has been 'carrying on without end' alongside laughing and giggling whilst in their own back garden. This behaviour is the crux of their issue with the family as it is 'disruptive' for the neighbour's pets who like to look into the garden.

The neighbour then asks if the parent can ask their child to calm down whilst outside or at the very least limit her time outside to less than 30 minutes per day. They end the note with a threat to phone the authorities if this problem continues to persist.

The beginning of the neighbour's note (TikTok)

The full note reads: "Dear neighbour. I moved here a year ago and I wanted to give you time to correct this problem on your own, but you are apparently too inconsiderate to do so.

"Every day this week, when weather has been nice and windows are open, you proceed to let your small child run free in your garden, laughing and giggling and carrying on without end."

"This is very disruptive for my two dogs and my bird who sits next to the window and likes to look into the garden. Perhaps you could ask your child to tone it down a bit.

"Or, at least limit her outside time to 15 to 20 minutes a day so my dogs can go outside without seeing her. If this behaviour persists I will call the police!"

The comments on the post are turned off however the video racked over 5k likes and thousands of views at the time of writing on the popular short form content app.
