'Necessary measures' - Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis takes to social media to report he has coronavirus

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has posted a message on social media about his health, after contracting coronavirus.

The Greek says he has been “visited” by “the recent virus”, but has stressed there is no need for concern as he follows medical advice.

Marinakis attended the Reds’ clash with Millwall at the City Ground on Friday night, which they lost 3-0.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote: “The recent virus has ‘visited’ me and I felt obliged to let the public know.

“I feel good as I take all the necessary measures and I discipline to the doctors’ instructions.

“I strongly advise all my fellow citizens to do the same. I wish all a quick recovery.”

Fellow Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos are due to play their Europa League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers behind closed doors on Thursday, in front of an empty Georgios Karaiskakis stadium, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
