Nearly £500k of cannabis seized in Ayrshire raid as two men arrested

TWO men have been arrested after police seized cannabis worth nearly half a million pounds in Ayrshire.

At around 10am on Thursday, officers acting on intelligence discovered a cannabis cultivation at a vacant building in Boswell Park in Ayr.

The drugs have an estimated street value of £434,000.

Two men, aged 33 and 29, have been arrested and charged in connection.

Detective Sergeant Allan Auld said: “This significant recovery highlights our commitment to disrupting drug-related crime in our communities.

“It also reinforces our ongoing commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is vital to our efforts, and I would encourage anyone concerned about drugs-related activity to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
