Nearly 500 people enjoy open day at Castle Douglas Police Station

Nearly 500 people felt the long arm of the law in Castle Douglas on Saturday.

They took the chance to visit the town’s police station which held a special open day.

It was a chance for kids and adults to see what facilities the station has and find out more about what officers get up to.

What do Castle Douglas residents make of plans for Men's Shed in the town?

They enjoyed having their fingerprints taken, trying out the breathalyzer machines and sitting in the cars for photos.

There were also sniffer dogs, Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes, the youth pod and the opportunity to see around the forensics room.
