Nearly 30,000 sit in exam for jobs in local govt offices in Korat

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A total of 29,840 applicants flocked to 17 venues in five districts of this northeastern province to take an examination for jobs in local administration offices for fiscal year 2017.

Of the 17 venues, 13 are in Muang district, one in Chok Chai, one in Non Thai, one in Non Sung, and one in Pak Thongchai.

In Muang district, the largest venue for the exam is Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, followed by Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Nakhon Ratchasima Mechanical Engineering and Commercial College and Nakhon Ratchasima Vocational Education College.

All of the applicants must submit to a body search and enter the exam room wearing only sports trousers and and T-shirts, and carrying only a sharpened pencil. All electronic devices are prohibited to prevent cheating.

Plain-clothes police were deployed at all venues to look for possible malpractice.

The exam to screen applicants for local administration offices for fiscal year 2017 is held simultaneously throughout the country. A total of 20,602 positions are available.

Countrywide, a total of 627,975 applied to take the examination.
