Neal Maupay was left out of the Everton squad to take on Leeds United on Tuesday after failing to be registered as a Blues player despite being at the club for four days now.
With Monday being a bank holiday, the Premier League used Friday noon as the cut off point for new players to be registered for Tuesday's matches.
The Everton new boy was registered by the club on Friday afternoon, but the weekend and bank holidays are not deemed as working days for the Premier League so the striker misses out at Elland Road.

The ECHO's Joe Thomas said ahead of kick-off at Elland Road on the matter: "It appears Neal Maupay may have missed out for Everton today due to a technicality. Understand that because yesterday was a bank holiday, the Premier League treated noon on Friday as the cut-off point for registration for this game tonight."
Maupay was signed on Friday from Brighton and Hove Albion as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to struggle with injuries. Lampard has been wanting to reinforce his attacking options as the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
