NCAA delaying decision on fall sports amid COVID-19 concerns

According to a statement released by the NCAA’s president Mark Emmert on Friday, they will be delaying an expected decision on fall sports given recent COVID-19 trends. The decision comes after a meeting of the NCAA Board of Governors on Friday.

Below is part of the statement from Emmert, which you can read in full here.

“Today the Board of Governors and I agreed that we must continue to thoughtfully and aggressively monitor health conditions around the country and the implementation of the COVID-19 guidelines we issued last week,” NCAA president Mark Emmert said in a statement released on Friday. “The health and well-being of college athletes is the highest priority in deciding whether to proceed with our 22 NCAA championships beginning in late November.”
