NBC just teased over 11 new shows — including four new 'The Fast and the Furious' shows coming to Peacock

If the phrase "NBCUniversal upfront" means nothing to you, then you're not alone. For those outside the industry, it's just Hollywood speak. But for those in the know, it's the event where NBCUniversal (a combination of NBC and Universal Studios) shows off a big portion of its upcoming shows (and occasionally movies) in order to entice advertisers.

Translation: If you want to know what's eventually coming to Peacock, the NBCUniversal upfront presentation matters a lot.

Especially when it drops a bombshell announcement on us like it did today. During its upfront presentation, NBCU revealed details for more than 11 new shows coming to NBC, USA, Bravo and Peacock. But the headliner was a single comment from "The Fast and the Furious" star Vin Diesel — "Peacock is launching four shows from the 'Fast and Furious' universe."

Four 'Fast and Furious' shows coming ... but not all at once

For those hoping to see a trailer for any of the four new Peacock series Diesel hinted at, I have bad news: That single statement was the only thing revealed by the action star at NBCU's presentation.

But some additional information has leaked out. According to Variety, it's actually only one show that's actively in production. The other three are still just in development at Universal TV.

Still, given that "Fast Forever," the final movie in the film franchise, isn't coming until March 17, 2028 (according to Diesel), any "Fast" content will be welcome. So I'll forgive Diesel for jumping the gun, as long as these shows are better than "F9."

New shows from Amy Poehler and more teased at NBCU upfront presentation

Aside from these new "Fast and Furious" shows, NBCU showed off quite a few series I'll be keeping an eye on. Top of the list is "Dig," a new comedy set in Southern Greece where Amy Poehler has to keep a historic discovery secret from her boss, played by Hugh Laurie. Right up there with it is "Sunset P.I.," which stars "New Girl" lead Jake Johnson alongside Keith David and Langston Kerman ("English Teacher") running a private investigation firm in Los Angeles.

But if you prefer something scary to something funny, "Crystal Lake" is a "Friday the 13th" prequel series that stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, mother of the iconic killer, Jason Voorhees. It's produced by A24 for Peacock, and I'll be marking my calendar for when it comes out on Oct. 15, 2026. If you liked "IT: Welcome to Derry," then this should be right up your alley.

Here's the full list of the shows that were announced or teased at the 2026 NBCU upfront presentation that you need to keep an eye on:

  • “The Traitors” season 5 (coming early 2027)
  • "Line of Fire" (new drama series)
  • "The Rockford Files" (reboot of an iconic detective drama)
  • "Newlyweds" (new sitcom)
