Whenever Shai Gilgeous-Alexander plays, he becomes the topic of conversation on NBA Twitter.

That’s what happens when you score 30-plus points on shooting efficiency from a guard that hasn’t been seen since Michael Jordan.

Add Wednesday night to the collection. His 42-point performance, which included the game-winning step-back 3, blew up on Twitter as several national media pundits weighed in.

In the end, the Thunder defeated the Washington Wizards, 121-120.

The 42 points tied Gilgeous-Alexander’s career high, and now the 24-year-old is averaging 32.3 points on 54.8% shooting this season.
