NBA reports zero positive coronavirus tests over past week

If it feels like there were fewer postponed games around the league in recent days than there had been over the past few weeks, there’s a reason why.

For the first time in more than a month, the NBA reported no positive COVID-19 cases in its weekly report.

The league issued 482 tests of players since Jan. 27, it said in the announcement. None came back positive.

The last time there were no positive coronavirus cases over a week was from Dec. 24-Dec. 30. In the reports since, there were four positive tests from Dec. 30-Jan.7, 16 positive tests the next week, 11 positive tests the following and the week before this last one, one positive test.

Over the past week, the Oklahoma City Thunder added one game to their schedule over the first half of the season. They will play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 17. The Grizzlies had several games postponed in the middle of January.
