NBA fans roast the Rockets after team ‘respectfully’ disagrees with MVP outcome

Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo received his first career NBA MVP award on Monday night at the NBA Awards, and while Antetokounmpo was clearly a deserving winner based on his ridiculous numbers and Milwaukee’s stellar regular-season record, the Houston Rockets argued on Twitter that voters made a mistake.

Houston’s James Harden had one of the best offensive seasons in the modern era, and he led the league in scoring by a massive margin with 36.1 points per game. The Rockets listed Harden’s accolades in a tweet thread that was quickly criticized by NBA fans.

The Rockets could have simply congratulated Antetokounmpo, or ignored the result altogether, but the team chose to protest. This is the same organization that audited a Game 7 loss to the Warriors to find out how many points the referees cost them with questionable calls.
