Naughty Valentine's Day cucumber joke leaves Tesco shoppers red-faced

A risqué poster urging customers to explore cucumbers with their loved ones has appeared in a Bristol Tesco Express.

The advert, which comes complete with the supermarket's slogan along the bottom, offers shoppers the chance to buy a Valentine's Day special deal, with the veg being sold for just 20p,

But officials at the huge chain said the poster is nothing to do with them.

A witness who spotted the sign told Bristol Live: "I was in the Tesco on Gloucester Road and came across this poster in the same format as Tesco would use for a sales poster but it communicates a very explicit and humorous views on Valentines and love relationships."

A Tesco spokesperson said: This is not one of our posters, but we do have a wide range of more conventional Valentine’s gifts to choose from, including chocolates and flowers."

This is not the first cucumber story to hit the headlines this Valentine's Day.

On Tuesday night we ran a story after M&S claimed to produced the world's first heart-shaped cucumber just in time for February 14th.
