Naughty kitten knocks over tin of paint forcing couple to spend hours cleaning home

A couple spent hours cleaning their home after their naughty kitten knocked a tin of white paint over, splattering the entire kitchen.

Six-month-old tabby Dave caused chaos at Tracey Goree's Lincoln home, crashing into the tin and covering himself and much of the room in paint.

The 55-year-old full-time carer rushed downstairs to a scene of devastation.

She said: "I heard a noise from the kitchen and knew straight away that Dave was up to mischief.

"I slowly got up as I was talking to my partner at the time and as Dave had already been messing about in the sink, I wasn't too worried."

She added: "Suddenly I heard a crash so I rushed into the kitchen to be met with a sauntering, paint splashed kitten and complete devastation.

"I remember a panicked 'oh my god, no! No, no, no, no!!' and covering my wide open mouth with my hand.

"It was absolute bloody chaos! My partner and I had pots of paint on the side ready for decorating. One paint pot was on top of another and probably had a slightly loose lid."

Little Dave's antics took the couple hours to clean up.

Tracy added: "I scooped up the worst bit with a dustpan and a piece of stiff cardboard whilst my partner showered Dave.

"When he came down we both got a bucket of warm water and washing up liquid for the floor.

"The paint everywhere else was already starting to dry so we poured salt on the worst of it.

"This acts as an abrasive and we were able to scrub clean the worktop, kettle, toaster and bread bin. It was midnight by then so we decided the rest could wait until we decorate.

"It took two of us two-and-a-half hours to clean up."

But despite his mischievous ways, Tracey says Dave is a very lovable kitten.

She said: "Dave is cute, sweet, adorable and very loving. We rescued his mum and sister when she was just pregnant so Dave has been with us since day one."
