Nationwide recall issued for toddler steps sold on Amazon over ‘risk of death’

  • The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls for two types of toddler stools, Woodure-branded children ’s tower kitchen step stools and HARPPA’s Nordi foldable toddler towers, totaling over 130,000 units sold primarily on Amazon .
  • Both recalled products present a serious risk of injury and death due to tip-over, fall, and entrapment hazards, according to the CPSC.
  • The Woodure recall affects 91,000 units, with the company reporting 22 incidents of instability or tip-overs, leading to 15 reported injuries including scrapes, cuts, and bruises.
  • The HARPPA recall involves 47,166 units, with three reports of the tower stools collapsing or tipping over, resulting in two injuries such as scrapes, cuts, and bruises.
  • Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled stools, store them away from children, and contact Woodure or HARPPA for a free repair kit.
