Nationals come from behind in Game 7 with two clutch 7th inning home runs

Astros starting pitcher Zack Greinke was tremendous in Game 7, holding the Nationals to only one hit through the first six innings of the game, and the Astros held a 2-0 lead with only nine outs separating them from a second World Series in three seasons.

Everything changed in the bottom of the seventh inning. Astros manager A.J. Hinch chose to stick with Greinke, who needed just 67 pitches to get through six innings. Adam Eaton grounded out for the first out of the inning, but Anthony Rendon gave the Nationals life with a blast into left field to trim the deficit to one.

Greinke was victim to a questionable ball call on a key 2-1 pitch to Juan Soto, and walked Washington’s 21-year old star to put the tying run on base. Hinch then pulled Greinke for reliever Will Harris, who gave up a two-run homer to Howie Kendrick on a 90 mph cutter.
