
National airlines remain the first choice of Saudis, according to a survey, in which 70 percent said that they prefer national airlines compared to 18 percent and 11 percent who respectively prefer Gulf and international companies.
A total of 36,2 percent of Saudis expressed concern over traveling before a vaccine is found for COVID-19, while 18 percent said they were willing to travel once the authorities lift restrictions.
A total of 32 percent said they would travel by plane within one to six months following the lift of travel restrictions. In contrast, 13,7 percent said that traveling before a minimum of one year since that step is unlikely.
Further, the majority of participants, meaning 82,4 percent, described the precautionary measures enforced ahead of the reopening of airports as acceptable and assuring.
While 56 percent preferred internal, Gulf, and Arab destinations, 44 percent preferred international destinations.
Traveller attitude also witnessed changes in which 68,4 percent of participants showed less interest in shopping and purchasing from the airport halls as they wait for their flight. Meanwhile, a percentage of 20,3 would visit portals of food and beverages.
