Nashville hopes to run it back with NFL Draft in 2024 or 2025

The 2019 NFL Draft, which took place in Nashville, was a huge success — and much like the Tennessee Titans are doing in 2020, the city is looking to “run it back” at some point down the road.

According to Jim Wyatt of Titans Online, Butch Spyridon, the CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, has “submitted an expression of interest to host the NFL Draft in 2024 or 2025.”

“They have not opened up the bidding process for those years yet,” Spyridon said. “But we have stayed in touch with the league, and we will continue to do so.”

“I’d be more surprised if they don’t give us a future date than I would be if we get one,” Spyridon said. “I am very confident we’ll get a future year in that window, because they still tell every city they (talk to about the draft): ‘Call Nashville’. I’ve heard that from the other cities, and I’ve heard that from the league. So, I’m confident. And in my mind, five years is a really good window as far as repeating something big.”

The 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville set multiple records, according to the NFL. Over 600,000 fans were in attendance for the three-day event, and it drew 47.5 million viewers.

As a result, it would only make sense for the NFL to re-visit Nashville as the home for its draft once again.

The next three drafts will take place in Cleveland (2021), Las Vegas (2022) and Kansas City (2023), so Nashville will have to wait until 2024 at the earliest to bring it home.
