NASHIK: Three people allegedly duped a city woman of Rs 1.92 lakh on the pretext of arranging her a loan for her business from a bank.
Satpur police said that the bank lodged a complaint against the trio on Wednesday. Police said that one of the suspects approached the woman to help her get a business loan. The suspect told her to keep at least Rs 2 lakh in her bank account till the loan is approved.
A few days later, another suspect met her posing as a representative of the financial institution and took all documents and a cheque of Rs 150.
The suspects then allegedly erased the details written on the cheque and altered the amount to Rs 1.92 lakh. The victim informed her bank when she received an SMS saying that hefty amount had been deducted from her account.
