Narcissist much? Donald Trump wants to rebrand the Republican party as ‘Tpublican’ or ‘Tepublican’ after his own name

After everything Donald Trump has done, Americans probably thought he couldn’t get more bizarre. But then, he proved everyone wrong with a narcissistic suggestion of renaming a contingent of the Republican party after himself.

On Nov. 26, Trump caught everyone off guard by suggesting that there should be a new word to refer to his supporters. He floated the options “Tpublican” or “Tepublican,” creating a mix of his initial and “Republican.” That might make you burst into laughter, but no, he wasn’t being sarcastic. He really believes that he deserves a cult name for his brand of Republican politics.

There is a new word for a TRUMP REPUBLICAN, which is almost everyone (GREAT POLICY IS THE KEY!). It is, TEPUBLICAN??? Or, TPUBLICAN??? (via Truth Social)

Trump already created a subset within his party after popularizing the acronym of his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” His supporters proudly call themselves “MAGA” to show their devotion to him. But, the president doesn’t want to stop there, and his goons are all in. His son, Donald Trump Jr., responded to his post by suggesting another word: “Trumplican.”

The absurdity didn’t end there. Within minutes, several users joined the discussion and dropped comments like, “Proud to be a Trumplican.” Another wrote, “I have left the Republican Party and am now a Trumplican.” But the move is more dividing than uniting. While Trump probably thinks it’s a genius move, he’s actually segregating the same base that made him a president.

Not all Republican supporters are MAGA maniacs, and he’s giving them a chance to dissociate themselves from his lunatic base. He wants to more clearly distinguish “his” Republicans from traditional or establishment Republicans. So, if all his goons begin identifying with one of his labels, the Republican Party will be split. The far consequence of that would make Trump alienated from his own party. And it would only hurt his politics.

Then, with that internal divide, the GOP can actually get a chance to wash itself of Trump’s craziness. For the few sane Republicans, it would be like the trash taking itself out. And if the move does not create an internal dissent, it will vilely snatch away the party’s historical identity. He did not create the party, so he should not be reshaping it.

Trump also can not constitutionally return to power again. So, his “rebranding” makes no sense. If anything, it will the party into a joke that the next generation would probably cringe on.
