Naomi Watts’ ‘Quiet Luxury’ Living Room Redefines Warm, Cozy, and Welcoming Interiors for 2025 – Effortlessly Elegant, Lived-In, and Easy to Recreate

Naomi Watts attends the "All's Fair" London Premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on October 22, 2025 in London, England.

Fall always feels like the moment to slow down and turn our homes into warm, cocooning sanctuaries – places made for curling up and unwinding. Think natural materials, rich colors, and tactile layers that make every evening indoors feel special. Actress Naomi Watts has done exactly that in her beautifully cozy living room, proving that ‘quiet luxury’ can also be deeply comforting.

Lately, I’ve found myself drawn to interiors that feel lived-in rather than styled to perfection – snug rooms with character, warmth, and a story to tell. If you’re aiming for that same inviting feel, resist the urge to strip away the things that make your space unique. Those personal touches are what turn a house into a home.

You don’t need a full redesign to embrace the cozy aesthetic, either. As Sue Jones, co-founder and creative director of Oka, says: ‘Swap linens for heavier fabrics in rich burgundy tones (the room color idea of the moment) to achieve a warm, light-filled room. The Chella Checkered Faux Fur Throw Blanket from Anthropologie is my burgundy must-buy for this season. Also, don’t hold back when it comes to layering prints and patterns; it will help create a feeling of depth that only adds to that coziness.’

Stylist and Homes & Gardens contributor Pippa Blenkinsopp agrees: ‘When creating the ultimate sanctuary, it’s important to consider not only how the space looks, but also how it feels. Think about engaging all the senses with tactile textures, ambient lighting, fall candles, and fragrances. Most importantly, however, fill the space with items you love, as these will bring the ultimate comfort.’

When I’m decorating for the colder months, I always focus on lighting, furniture, and texture. Swap harsh overheads for the warm glow of table lamps, and layer soft furnishings wherever you can – rugs, drapes, cushions, throws. Sectional sofas and ottomans instantly make a large living room feel cozy.

With just a few thoughtful changes, your home can feel every bit as cozy and inviting as Naomi Watts’s – a timeless space designed for comfort, calm, and the simple pleasure of staying in.
