N-Dubz fans throw beer and boo as Tulisa apologises after gig axed with five minutes to go

N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos has issued an apology just hours after the group cancelled a show minutes before they were due to perform on stage.

The trio, who are currently performing on a sold-out reunion tour across the UK, were due to perform at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday night but they never made it on stage in the packed arena.

Fans were then told that the gig would not go ahead due to "artist illness" and fans were forced to leave the arena after watching the support acts, writes The Mirror.

Some fans travelled far and wide last night to witness the dynamite trio perform their biggest hits including Strong Again and Playing With Fire - with one even coming from Wales.

One fan told The Mirror about the frosty atmosphere which took hold of the arena as a cancellation message appeared on stage.

They said: "The atmosphere in the arena completely changed when the cancellation announcement was made with minutes to spare. Fans started booing in their thousands and lobbing pints around. It was chaos."

They added: "Everyone was so annoyed. Especially as Dappy was posting to Instagram that he wasn't feeling well on the night but we didn't get the news till the very last minute."

Tulisa then took to her social media to issue an apology and explained the last minute decision.

She wrote: "I'm so sorry to the N Dubz fans in Nottingham tonight. Please know we are trying to reschedule this show asap to make it work on same tour run & the date will be announced tomorrow morning."

The 34-year-old added: "I promise you we did everything within our power to make tonight happen but we also didn't want to sell you short & not give you the best show you deserve. Love you guys & so sorry once again. See you soon."

Dappy has also expressed his sorrow, sharing a snap of the group on stage alongside the caption: "I'm so sorry Nottingham."

However, a statement made by the group states that the decision to cancel was "doctors orders" due to Dappy being "unable to perform".

They said: "We're so sorry we had to cancel the show tonight. We tried to do everything possible to make the show happen, but a doctor advised at the very last minute that Dappy was unable to perform and needed to rest tonight. We had to take this advice seriously and consider Dappy's health so that the rest of the tour can happen, which has so far been amazing.

"The O2 Arena show tomorrow (November 23) and the rest of the tour will still be going ahead. We will make a further statement after Dappy has seen the doctor again tomorrow morning.

"We're deeply sorry to all the fans who travelled to see us tonight and promise to make it up to you with a new rescheduled date for the show. Dappy, Tulisa & Fazer."
