MYSURU: Bilikere police have arrested a mason in connection with the murder of a fellow worker over a trivial issue in Hunsur. Siddanayaka (40) of Hosaramanahalli in Hunsur, had allegedly stabbed Shekar (32), also a mason and resident of the same village, after an argument late on July 15.
Sources claimed Shekar had borrowed a sum of Rs 1,500 from Siddanayaka and hadn’t repaid it. They had an argument over it at a gathering. However, altercation escalated and Siddanayaka stabbed Shekar with a knife, the police said. Bilikere police said Shekar died at the hospital on July 17. Siddanayaka has been charged with murder and is now in judicial custody. tnn
