Musician Beans on Toast to play live gig in Bristol this weekend

A top musician is playing a gig in Bristol this weekend in what will be one of the first ticketed live music events to take place in the city post-lockdown.

Beans on Toast made history on July 28 by performing at the UK’s first indoor independent live gig since lockdown began, playing at The Clapham Grand alongside Frank Turner and Ciara Haidar.

And this Sunday (August 16) the popular folk singer will be performing at The Full Moon, just off the Bearpit roundabout, as part of a mini UK tour.

The shows will provide "safe and sustainable solutions for the return of live music," said a spokesperson for the musician, who released a series of singles over lockdown called 'Save The Music'.

The spokesperson said: "In keeping with the message behind the ‘Save The Music’ single, today Beans is very pleased to confirm he will be appearing at a number of live events throughout August looking to provide safe and sustainable solutions for the return of live music.

"With shows in Devon, Bristol, Cumbria and East Sussex, these innovative outdoor gigs will all be attended by a live audience and each are guaranteed to be socially distanced and Covid-secure in keeping with current government guidelines."

The Essex-born songwriter combines folk with a D.I.Y approach and is seen as his fans as a cult figure who tells it like it is.

A festival favourite, he has played Glastonbury every year since 2007 and is equally as prolific in the studio as he is in a live setting, with 11 albums under his belt and counting.
