Bus company Murrays has suspended many of its routes as a result of coronavirus.

The company suspended its Sydney to Canberra express routes along with its Melbourne to Sydney route and Brisbane to Toowoomba services until further notice.

The company said other routes out of Canberra including services to Wollongong and Narooma were unaffected and were running to a normal timetable.

"At this stage we do not know when the services will resume, but rest assured that we will be continually monitoring the situation over the coming weeks and months and will resume when it is safe to do so," a Murrays spokesman said.

Those who had booked tickets on affected services will be contacted directly.

"Any person who holds a booking for travel on a suspended service will be issued with a travel credit, valid to December 31, 2020, regardless of fare type," the spokesman said.
