Murdered son will be 'forever 29' as family keep fighting for justice

The family of Adam Ellison has issued a heartbreaking appeal on what would have been his 35th birthday, instead, he will be "forever 29".

Adam was enjoying a night out with friends when he was stabbed in the neck during an altercation with two men on a scrambler bike at Market Place, Prescot. During the early hours of November 4, 2017, loved ones desperately tried to save the 29-year-old, but despite best efforts he died shortly after 2am.

The killer, who wielded the blade as he rode down a pedestrian walkway in Prescot, is yet to face justice. Every day since, Adam's heart-broken family have been fighting for justice and closure.

On what marks Adam's 35th birthday today (February 7), his loved ones paid tribute to the man who will be "forever 29". In a post on the ADAM Foundation 's Facebook page on Monday evening, it read: "You’re everywhere except right here and it hurts.

"Although it’s Adam’s 35th birthday tomorrow he will forever be 29. As that is when his life cruelly came to an end and the age our boy was murdered.

"People know what we want and need for Adam and that’s justice, it won’t bring him back to us we know that but even with the murderer behind bars just remember he gets to see his family. Adam’s family will still suffer the pain and heartache this murderer has caused them for the rest of their lives but they will have piece of mind knowing justice was served.

"Surely they all deserve that closure is needed and the truth needs to finally come out. We miss you Adam."

Close friend Bev Lowton paid tribute to the man who would have been an "amazing dad". Sharing a picture of Adam just days before his 29th birthday, she said: "The family are hurting without him, Adam had so much more life to live. He adored his doggy Judy, he was the best dog dad but we just know he would of been an amazing dad. all of this was snatched away from him over 5 year’s ago.

"His family are to this day devastated and many friend’s are left heartbroken but we know in heaven he is surrounded by loved ones and having a whisky with him. We miss you Adam, happy heavenly birthday. Forever 29."

Since that day, several lines of enquiry have been carried out as part of an ongoing investigation and arrests have been made but, to date, nobody has been charged. In November 2021, Merseyside Police issued a renewed appeal to catch the person responsible.

The ADAM Foundation (Achieving Dreams And Memories) set up in Adam's memory continues to campaign against knife crime across Merseyside and supports community initiatives in the Prescot area. Having visited thousands of children in schools across the borough, the committee – Adam’s loved ones – hope to spread the all important message of not to carry a weapon.

Liverpool FC fan Adam, who had started a management training course with Tesco, had been a best man and popped the big question to the love of his life.
