A murder suspect has been remanded in custody after being accused of killing a Scots dad in his hometown just days before Christmas.

Jordon Morrison, 24, is alleged to have attacked William "Billy" McGuire, 25, in Clydebank.

Prosecutors claim Morrison, of Glasgow, killed Mr McGuire, who was found injured in the West Dunbartonshire's town's Perth Crescent, at around 12.05am on December 21, 2020.

His friend, 34, was also found injured at the scene and both men were rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Mr McGuire passed away a short time later.

Morrison appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Saturday, January 2.

He made no plea during the private hearing, where he faced two charges - murder and attempted murder.

Prosecutors also claim he attacked Mr McGuire's friend.

The case against him was continued and he was remanded in custody.

No future court dates have been set.
