NOIDA: "Shekhar Yadav paused briefly after firing the first shot at my father, saw him collapse to the ground and scream in pain before taking the second aim, directly in his head," said Bhupendra Yadav, the elder son of the 55-year-old Ashok who was killed at a farmhouse in UP's Greater Noida West during a wedding on Monday.
The movie ‘Rocky and Rani’ was recently shot at Gaur Mulberry.
Bhupendra claimed he and his uncle were also beaten up by a few men accompanying Shekhar, who is the ex-father-in-law of his younger brother Upendra.
The two families have been embroiled in a bitter fight over Upendra’s divorce with Shekar’s daughter.
Six months ago, the couple reached an out-of-court settlement after two years of separation and divorce proceedings after the intervention of the panchayat.
Upendra, they claimed, paid Rs 1 crore in divorce settlement to his ex-wife.
Bhupendra claimed Shekhar’s family previously threatened them and brandished weapons in the public, videos of which were shared on social media.
“Around six to seven months ago, we submitted an application with the local police after Shekhar’s family threatened to kill us. We wanted protection from them. However, cops took no action,” he said.
Bhupendra claimed around 9.30pm on Monday, he was having dinner with his father and uncle at the wedding at Gaur Mulberry farmhouse in Greater Noida West when Shekhar and his men, all intoxicated, confronted them.
“They picked up a fight with my father and started shoving and heckling him. When we intervened, at least 15-20 men surrounded us and beat us up too. All this time they kept threatening to wipe out the entire family. Suddenly, Shekhar wiped out a gun and shot my father in the head. The first bullet hit my father and he fell on the ground near me. He was screaming out of pain. Shekhar paused for a moment and then shot him again, again in his head killing him on the spot,” Bhupendra said.
The shooting created a commotion at the venue and the accused fled during this melee.
“As the shots were fired, everyone started to run to save themselves. Police were called in later,” an eyewitness said.
