Munster v Leinster to take place on January 23 as PRO14 games rescheduled

PRO14 chiefs have rescheduled two games to take place over the next two weekends that have been freed up by the postponement of the final two pool rounds of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.

As expected, the Munster v Leinster game that was postponed on December 26 will take place on Saturday week (January 23) at Thomond Park.

The game will have a 7.35pm kick-off and will be broadcast live on TV by eirsport.

The other PRO14 game rescheduled is another postponed fixtures from round nine between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby.

The Scottish derby will go ahead at Scotstoun Stadium this at 5.15pm. Saturday.

"PRO14 Rugby is grateful to each of its stakeholders for their flexibility and cooperation in rearranging these fixtures," read a statement.

Munster will also be in action on Saturday, January 30, with the delayed round five clash at Benetton pencilled in for a 5pm Irish time kick-off at Stadio Monigo.

Later that evening, the postponed round eight clash between Scarlets and Leinster will kick off in Llanelli at 7.35pm.

Connacht will be in action away to the Dragons on Friday, February 5 (kick-off 7.35pm) - just two days before Ireland's first Six Nations game against Wales.

And Connacht will be in action again eight days later, hosting the Ospreys at the Sportsground on Saturday, February 13 (kick-off 7.35pm).

The fact that Ulster don't play at all before the Six Nations and Connacht are in action just before the championship kicks off will disappoint Ireland boss Andy Farrell.

A number of Test frontliners, including Ulster skipper Iain Henderson and Connacht centre Bundee Aki, didn't feature over the festive season due to knee injuries and could have done with a competitive hit out before returning to Ireland camp.

Farrell is due to bring his players together the weekend after next, so just after the re-arranged Munster v Leinster clash.
