Mumbai: Two Shiv Sainiks booked for derogatory tweets on PM Narendra Modi

MUMBAI: The Sion Police have booked two Shiv Sainiks attached to the media cell of the party for allegedly posting derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Twitter.

The Sion police officials said that they have booked Rohan Patankar, Shiv Sena's up-shaka pramukh from Worli, and one Shiv Sainik Nitin Shinde from Pune under the IPC section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc, and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony).

Police said that Patankar had uploaded the derogatory remarks against Modi and Shah on August 1. The faces of Modi and Shah were morphed and defaced and offensive content was uploaded. Shinde then confirmed the post and re-tweeted the photograph. The complaint was registered by Constable Vijay Pagare. Police are likely to arrest the duo. tnn
