MUMBAI: Owner of a snacks and cake shop in Matunga lost Rs 1.89 lakh to cyber fraudsters who posed as electricity company officials and siphoned off money from his bank account.
Later when he approached the police, Investigating officer PSI Santosh Mali sent an email to the nodal officer of the payment gateway, and managed to prevent Rs 11,000 from being transferred to the accused. Over Rs 1.5 lakh were sent to two different banks.
