Mumbai local train commuters are advised to plan their journeys carefully as Western Railway will undertake a five-hour jumbo block on Sunday, June 7, 2026, for essential maintenance work on tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment.
The announcement was made by the Mumbai Division of Western Railway through a post on X, informing passengers that the block will be carried out on both the UP and DOWN Slow Local Lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central from 10:35 am to 3:35 pm.
According to Divisional Railway Manager- Mumbai Division of Western Railway, the maintenance work is aimed at improving the safety, reliability, and overall efficiency of Mumbai's suburban railway network.
What Will Change During the Jumbo Block?
During the five-hour maintenance window:
- Slow line local trains will be operated on the fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central.
- Several suburban train services will remain cancelled.
- Some local trains will be short-terminated or short-originated at Bandra and Dadar stations.
The railway administration has urged commuters to check train schedules before starting their journey and pay attention to station announcements for real-time updates.
Passengers Advised to Plan Ahead
Western Railway requested passengers to cooperate during the maintenance period and make necessary travel arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience.
