MUMBAI: A driver with an app cab service was arrested on Friday for sexually harassing an underage passenger. The accused, Murari Singh (29), has been booked under the Pocso Act. The 15-year-old landed at the Santacruz terminal of Mumbai airport on May 25.
Around 10 am, she booked an Ola cab. En route, the driver asked her if she would like to befriend him. “He grabbed her hand but she released it from his grip. Throughout the journey, he was staring at the girl from the rear view mirror,” a police official said.
When the girl got off, she did not have change to pay the driver. When she told him about it, he winked at her and asked her to accompany him to get change. Once home, the girl told her mother who approached the police. The firm has blacklisted the driver and taken him off its platform.
