Mum warned she might never leave Wirral

A mum was warned she might end up packing her bags and moving to Wirral after a day trip to the seaside.

Jessica Peltier said she had an amazing time when she and her friend Richard Elder came to New Brighton last weekend.

From the friendly people and street art to the delicious breakfasts and peaceful beach walks, Jessica, 35, said she could easily see herself living in the town.

She said: "I really wanted to go to the beach because we haven't been able to travel and my friend Richard had suggested Blackpool, which is great but I fancied going somewhere new."

So last weekend, Jessica, from Burton on Trent, and her friend headed off for New Brighton and had a day filled with classic seaside fun.

She said: "It was so much fun. We started off with a little walk on the beach, then we had a delicious breakfast at the Seaside Cafe.

"We went to the arcades and blew a load of 2ps on the machines and went on the rides at the fairground - we were some of the only adults on our own, but I just love the dodgems.

"Then we went along Victoria Road and Richard is a keen photographer so he loved taking some great pictures of all the street art.

"And the people were all so lovely and friendly, I asked for directions a few times and everyone was so helpful.

"And of course we popped into the Boris pub [ The James Atherton has recently been renamed 'The Two Helmets' with a picture of PM Boris Johnson and now former health secretary Matt Hancock]."

After sharing pictures of her day on Facebook, many commented how they had also come for a day trip to New Brighton and fell in love with the area so much they moved here.

One said: "I came to Wirral bonfire night from Nottinghamshire. Moved on December 28th. Five years ago. Wonderful place, lovely people."

Another said: "I'll give it a year before you move here.

"I came here to visit about five years ago. I've lived here for four."

Jessica told the ECHO she could easily see herself living in New Brighton: "Oh god yes, it is just lovely.

"While we were there we did say to each other how lovely it must be to grow up by the beach.

"I was so happy to see all the comments in the New Brighton Gossip & Community Facebook group, I was amazed there were so many, I haven't even had time to read them all yet.

"Next time we come we are going to bring our kids, my daughter, Ariella, nine, will love it."
