A mum-of-two was stunned after Asda charged her £239 for just one pizza .
Lindsay Matthews, from Colne in Lancashire, ordered a fresh 10ins barbecue base cheese pizza at her local store.
The pizza should have cost £2.60, but she when she arrived at the checkout she was shocked to find the bill was three times higher than her normal weekly shop.
When trying to fix the mistake, the till operator accidentally added another £239 onto Lindsay's bill, bringing the total cost to £596.
Lindsay, 43, said: "I went to Asda Colne to do my usual weekly shop. I ordered two pizzas to be made up. Whilst they were being made up I did my shop, then collected the pizza before I went to checkout.
"After my shop was all scanned the lovely lady on checkout told me my total shop came to £356.92," Lindsay explained.
"My face must have been a picture. The checkout lady said 'that seems expensive', to which I replied 'you think?'
"On checking the till receipt, one of the pizzas had been scanned through at £239.20.
"After spotting the mistake she tried to rectify it by deducting the £239.20, but instead added it again. Therefore bringing my shop to £592.12."
Asda apologised and gave her the pizza, which was for her 13-year-old daughter Ella, for free.
The pricey pizza still doesn't come close to the world's most expensive pizza, which was created by Renato Viola in Italy and cost £12,000.
It took 72-hours to prepare, and toppings included three rare types of caviar, Norwegian lobster and seven types of cheese, washed down with brandy, champagne and cognac.
