A mum has been applauded for her honesty after sharing an image of what she considers to be the "perfect" packed school lunch, as the realistic spread left other parents feeling relieved.
In a bid to prove that not every lunch box needs to be filled with fancy food, the mum championed the simple lunch, as the picture showed her child's metal lunch box with different compartments, filled with a sandwich, half an apple, some goldfish biscuits, a cheese string and a few Skittles.
The simple spread was neatly presented, and includes a varied mix of nutritious foods and treats for her little one, as reported by The Sun.

The mum wrote in the post "normalising mediocre lunches over here," explaining "this is my kindergartener's lunch most days".
Hundreds of parents quickly flocked to the comments on the post to praise the woman for her realistic portrayal of parenthood, with many sharing their own kids' lunchboxes to encourage others.
The post was quickly commented on by hundreds of other parents, many of whom admitted their kids' lunches were similarly simple.
"Honestly, a lot of kids eat better when their meals look simple," one mum praised.
"My six-year-old eats his simple lunches more than the extravagant, overly full ones - I think it overwhelms him and can do the same to a lot of other children as well!"

Meanwhile, another parent wrote: "I am proud to be of the working mums who don't have time to cut out shapes and make gourmet lunches for my child every day".
One dad chimed in, explaining: "My daughter is so picky and refuses to touch something new, especially when she isn't at home," a dad agreed.
"It's easier for everyone to just send some of her comfort foods and call it a day".
Another mum shared a picture of her kid's lunch, which included some bread, fruit and popcorn, to which someone else commented "My daughter is always guaranteed to finish this. And that's more important than something that looks aesthetic".
The mum's packed lunch reveal comes after another Aussie-based parent was criticised for making a carefully crafted lunch for her child, as some people branded it 'a waste of time'.
Posting to Facebook to reveal the contents, the lunchbox included a beautiful-looking butterfly-shaped ham, avocado and tomato sarnie, as well as pieces of cantaloupe, a cheese stick, pineapple, pear, yoghurt and a sugar-free unicorn bar.
One person responded to the perfect-looking lunch by saying: "That's so gorgeous! It's a shame it won't look the same when they open it... it all gets messed up once in the bag".
