Mum praised for sharing 'lazy' gifts no woman actually wants to receive at Christmas

On special occasions, such as Christmas, birthdays or anniversaries, it can be difficult to find the perfect present for your partner.

But if your loved one happens to be a woman, we might have a good idea of what NOT to get them.

This is thanks to Instagram user, Alexandra Cunningham, who posts under @thisfamilytree, who has shared her thoughts on gifts that most women are unlikely to want to receive.

In a viral post on her account, Alexandra shared several "lazy" items that "no woman actually wants for Christmas" in her opinion.

She captioned it, writing: "Unless it’s asked for, no thank youuu! ⁣Send and share to all the lazy gift-giving partners out there. "

The mum's list of unwanted gifts begins with personalised blankets, ones which have photos of the couple and their family and friends on them.

She then suggests people avoid buying "infection-inducing bath sets".

A few different images pop up to illustrate this of those sets you see in supermarkets or Boots/Superdrug at this time of year containing scented bubble baths, body lotions and shower gels, plus a colourful loofah.

Bodysprays were also said to be a big no-no as well as any form of heart-shaped jewellery.

The post divided her followers, with some people praising her for speaking up and saying it was "facts" but others admitting they are always grateful for any present they are given.

One person said: "I told my husband if he gave me heart jewellery it was a sign he doesn’t know me at all and we should call it quits."

Another replied: "My mother-in-law alwayyyyys gives me those terrible bath kits. In lavender."

A third wrote: "SO TRUE!"

A different user proclaimed: "Finally someone said it!!!"

"Preach," added a fifth.

While someone else thought: "I'm sorry but I would appreciate anything someone gave me."

Others confessed they were actually quite keen to get themselves a personalised blanket and they didn't mind certain branded bath sets.

"I love all three of those things," admitted a seventh woman.
