Two teenagers have admitted killing a woman after pushing a log weighing more than five stone over the edge of a cliff.
Mum-of-four Victoria Schafer, 44, was taking photographs with students in Ohio State Park when she was crushed.
The photography tutor died from her injuries after the log plummeted 75ft down a cliff on September 2 last year.
Jaden Churchheus and Jordan Buckley, who were both 16 at the time, pushed the log "to be funny" and said they did not intend to hurt anyone.
They both pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter after murder and reckless homicide charges were dropped.
Addressing Mrs Schafer's family, Buckley said, Inside Edition reports: "I understand that my actions that day has caused your family's life to change.
"I know that no words that I can speak can bring back your beloved wife, daughter and sister.
"My hope, from all of this, is to use this trauma to learn and live the rest of my life in a way that will honor Ms. Schafer's. I would like to use this experience to prevent others from making a similar mistake.
"There will not be a day for the rest of my life that I will not think of this tragedy.
"I hope that someday you will find it in your heart to forgive me."
Churchheus, who admitted causing the photographer's death two weeks ago, said: “That day at Old Man’s Cave, I never would have imagined that my actions would result in this.
"I have thought about the fact that I caused someone’s death every day since it happened, and I will carry that with me for the rest of my life.
"I appreciate the kindness of Ms. Schafer’s family, the attorney general’s office and the prosecutor’s office in giving me a second chance. I realize that nothing I say can bring Ms. Schafer back, but I am truly sorry."
Police said one of the boys messaged a friend saying he had done "something bad at the park".
In a statement after the tragedy, Hocking County Sheriff’s Office said: "Investigators were able to determine that the falling log was not a natural occurrence and continued their investigation into the incident.
"Detectives received information about two teenage boys who might have involvement in Schafer's death.
"Investigators conducted interviews with the two individuals where they obtained a confession regarding the incident."
The teenagers will be sentenced on October 15.
A judge recommended they serve a minimum of three years in a juvenile detention facility, Fox News reports.
