Mum has parents in stitches with 'genius' apple potty training method she teaches son

Young children have lots to learn about cleaning up after themselves, and sometimes it can be tricky to get the important lessons across.

Luckily, a mum has shared a "genius" tip for teaching tots to wipe after going to the toilet - leaving parents in stitches in the process.

Sharing her advice on TikTok @ onlychassidy revealed she teaches her son by smearing peanut butter over apples.

Then, he can practice clearing up the gooey brown stuff in a hygienic way.

To make it extra realistic, she even holds the fruit behind him, so it is like he is reaching for his bottom.

The hilarious video which shows her son in action has been praised by parents, both for sharing the "smart" tip and bringing a smile to people's faces.

One TikTok user commented: "Not the turnaround," before adding a laughing emoji, and another said: "This is so smart and so funny."

Several parents also said they were going to try out the trick.

"Omg I needed to see this! Can’t wait to show my boy this!" said a different user.

"Genius idea momma!" added someone else.

But the inventive mum wasn't the only one sharing tips, with a fellow parent suggesting that the mum keep the video and play it at her son's wedding one day.

"I DARE YOU to play this at his wedding," he joked, to which the mum replied: "Omg thanks for the idea, I can’t wait to hahaha."
