A shocked teacher has divided opinion after claiming she was paid an extra £100 after her school charged a mum for being late for picking up their child.
Kristin Evans got to keep the cash that came directly from the tardy parent due to the parent's late pick up policy.
Speaking to camera, on a video she later posted to TikTok, the teacher said she was given the cash to pay her back her lost time, as she needed to stay with the child until the parent showed up.
For every minute the parent was late, they were charged $2 - about £1.60 - so the teacher walked away with $116 - about £97.
Teacher Kristin didn't make comment on the policy, but did look a little shocked as she said: "The director of my school just walked up to me and handed me $116.
"She said it was because one of my half-day students was picked up almost an hour late and we get paid $2 a minute for every minute that they're late.

"So this parent was charged $2 a minute for being late and it goes directly into my pocket."
Commenters on the post had a mixed reaction with some agreeing that the teacher should be compensated while others had been in the parent's shoes.
"I can remember crying because I was stuck in traffic. I couldn’t get to my child’s daycare before it closed or afford the fine and they called police," one said.
Another added: "Imagine that mum freaking out, rushing to get there with high anxiety and then you get there and it’s like fork over the money... not a good day for that mum."
Other teachers who watched the video assured those concerned that fining parents for showing up late had become normal practice.
"Ours is £8 the first minute and a pound a minute thereafter... even in an emergency," one added.
"As a child that had a late parent, make them pay," another said.
"All the people disagreeing, these teacher’s aren’t paid overtime, would you stay an hour and a half late for free at work."
