MSU Football flips back Alabama commit, local 3-star RB Jace Clarizio

Michigan State football has flipped back a local prospect in a monster recruiting win for Jonathan Smith and his staff.

Three-star running Jace Clarizio of East Lansing, Mich. has flipped his commitment from Alabama and signed his National Letter of Intent with the Spartans on Wednesday. Justin Thind of 247Sports reported the notable flip on Wednesday morning.

As of 9:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Clarizio is showing as signed with the Spartans on 247Sports.

Clarizio was committed to the Spartans for most of the year but last week flipped his verbal commitment to Alabama. However, Thind is reporting that Smith personally “worked on him all last night” to get him to flip back to the Spartans.

Clarizio ranks as the No. 30 running back in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class. He is also listed as the No. 5 player from Michigan and No. 469 overall prospect in the country in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class.
