MSRTC announces Rs 1.5 crore revamp of Mumbai Central bus stand

MUMBAI: The MSRTC on Tuesday announced the beautification of Mumbai Central ST bus stand. The project which will cost Rs 1.5 crore will not just revamp the bus stand but will also provide better amenities to commuters.

It is one of the busiest bus stands in the state, with over 10,000 passengers travelling in buses from here daily. The money has been funded by local legislator Yamini Jadhav from the MLA fund.

The bus stand was set up in 1964 and caters to hundreds of citizens living in Byculla, Girgaum, Parel and other areas in the vicinity. It is a popular originating bus stop for journeys to Konkan, Khandesh and western Maharashtra, an official added.
