Ms. Marvel post-credits scene: Who are the agents hunting Kamala Khan?

After weeks of anticipation, Ms. Marvel has finally dropped on Disney+ (and we love it: read our review of the show here).

Though only one episode has been released so far, Marvel has of course blessed us with the obligatory post-credits scene… which teases dark times ahead for our intrepid hero, Kamala Khan.

Ms. Marvel, if you’re not up to speed, tells the story of Kamala (played by Iman Vellani), a girl from Jersey City who develops superpowers after putting on her great-grandmother’s ancient bangle.

Though the first episode mainly showed her getting to grips with her powers, one particularly notable moment shows Kamala displaying them in front of a massive crowd at AvengerCon (naturally, Kamala is cosplaying as Captain Marvel) – and multiple people in the audience are filming her.

In the post-credits scene, it looks like that has not gone unnoticed.

The short clip shows the Department of Damage Control viewing the footage and making the decision to “bring her in”.

If you think you might have seen these people before (or are wondering if you should know them), the answer is that they’re not new players in the Marvel game.

The Department of Damage Control first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Set up after the Battle of New York (which took place in the 2012 film The Avengers), their task is to deal with supernatural issues – including clearing up alien technology and dealing with rogue superheroes.

Though Michael Keaton’s character Vulture gets the better of them in that film, they also pop up in Spider-Man: No Way Home to interrogate Peter Parker and his friends.

As luck would have it (and because Marvel loves a bit of continuity), one of the same agents is making their small-screen debut in Ms. Marvel.

Played by Arian Moayed (who you’ll know as Kendall Roy’s frenemy Stewy in Succession, or as Anna Delvey’s lawyer in Inventing Anna), agent P. Cleary makes the call to bringing in Kamala after being shown the incriminating footage by fellow agent Sadie Deever (played by Alysia Reiner, who you may also have seen before in Orange Is The New Black).

Though we don’t yet know how this decision will affect Kamala, it’s early days: Ms. Marvel is set to run for six episodes in total, with a new episode being released every week… plenty of time to speculate.
