Mrs Hinch fans hail £1 beauty staple to give stainless steel 'streak-free shine'

There are many products that are aimed to cleaning stainless steel, from sprays to pastes – but sometimes it can and up looking more dirty than before due to the streaks that are left afterwards.

Luckily, fans of the online cleaning sensation Sophie Hinchliffe, also known as Mrs Hinch, have come together to share a solution to the problem.

A woman who was looking for advice on how to get rid of the streaks on her stainless steel extraction fan, posted on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook Group, saying: "Best product to clean stainless steel please? Whatever I use just leaves things like this!!"

She followed it with a picture of the extraction fan, which looked perfectly clean, but was left with lots of streaks from a microfibre cloth.

Hundreds of people flocked to the comment section to share their advice, and many echoed the same sentiments – they urged her to try baby oil.

Baby oil, which can be purchased in most shops for just £1, and is a beauty staple in many homes, is often to keep skin soft, has multiple uses.

One commenter suggested: "Use baby oil and kitchen roll to give a streak free shine."

Another agreed, adding: "A little splash of baby oil and buff off, I'll never use anything else."

Many agreed, adding that you only need a small amount. One person shared: "Always used baby oil on my hob - perfect - only need a small amount."

The woman who was looking for advice tried out the hack – and it worked a treat. She commented: "Baby oil did the trick!! Thanks all!"

It seemed the cleaning hack worked for more people, as another said: "Tried previous suggestions of using baby oil. Brilliant No streaks at all."

Baby oil can be used for a number of different things, including cleaning a fireplace.
