Mrs Hinch fan reveals 60p trick to get your toilet brush sparkling new

There are three things in life that are inevitable. Death, taxes and loo brushes very quickly becoming disgusting after a couple of uses.

However, instead of throwing away your cleaning device and buying a new one when it starts collecting debris - which is incredibly bad for the environment - you should try out a cheap and easy method of cleaning it, with domestic experts arguing that one trick in particular will have it factory fresh in no time.

Some have even referred to the cleaning method as 'the holy grail'.

The Mirror reports that it's much easier than you think to clean the nifty bathroom tool - and it'll only set you back 60p in the worst case scenario. But you've probably already got the product in your cupboard.

A cleaning guru took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page to ask people how they clean their toilet brushes. She wrote: "How do people clean their toilet brushes? I'm really thinking of times that people have a rather 'messy dump' and use the brush to quickly get rid of any mess following the flush."

Fellow Mrs Hinch fans shared their hints and tips, and the most popular solution was using bleach. One fan wrote: "When the brush has been in use, I leave it in the toilet with bleach in the water for a couple of hours. Then flush the toilet holding brush in water. Perfectly clean."

Another said: "Use the brush after you flushed then flush again with the brush in the flow, when bleaching the loo, put the brush in the water so that gets bleached as well."

Similarly, someone else commented: "I put it mine in the bowl of the loo with bleach and then leave. Flush later and it's clean. I do this daily."

A bottle of bleach costs as little as 60p in major supermarkets like Tesco, making this a cheap and easy win.
