Mr Blobby goes on This Morning rampage as he wrecks set while egged on by Basil Brush

Mr Blobby caused pandemonium on Monday's This Morning as he wrestled Christmas trees and booted presents on the set of the ITV daytime show.

The chaotic pink character then appeared to try and rugby tackle a bewildered Alison Hammond before the hosts were forced to cut to Loose Women.

At one point the flailing 90s icon needed to be picked up from the floor by Dermot O'Leary as he struggled to get off the ground in the chaos.

Blobby was invited on the show alongside Basil Brush and Bungle from Rainbow, encouraging his pal as he joined the fun.

The trio belted out their new festive hit Boom Boom It's Christmas as Allison ran from cover - but she couldn't escape for long.

Blobby boogied away with Father Christmas as the festive tune got going.

Everything appeared calm until the closing stages of the song and the pink predator lost all control

Bashing into the snowy studio trees, he jumped on the branches before hitting the deck.

He kicked the gifts before returning to battle with the trees, knocking them over before slipping again.

Dermot was forced to perform a rescue act with the struggling guest clearly disoriented.

He then set his sights on Alison before the chaos was eventually curtailed as Basil was making a play for the Christmas no1 with his catchy tune.

It left those at home wanting more.

One wrote: "Did I really just see Mr. Blobby on @ThisMorning destroying the set? #BoomBoom "

Another tweeted: "Did Mr blobby just rugby tackle Alison Hammond in the closing moments of @thismorning?"

A third put: "I was about to say, I’ve never seen Mr Blobby so well behaved but that didn’t last long while another viewer said: "Mr Blobby wrecking s**t will never not be funny."

Some else asked: "Someone explain to me why Bungle and Mr Blobby are there? #thismorning "

It's not the first time the legendary TV character has appeared on the programme.

Mr Blobby collapsed in pain on This Morning in 2018 after being punched by Noel Edmonds' friend.

The children's TV favourite, who rose to fame on Noel's house party, was left reeling after he was assaulted by Maggie Philbin.
