Motorcyclist fighting for life after crash in Esh Winning

A man has been rushed to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in County Durham on Friday afternoon.

The crash took place at the B6302 junction on Priestburn Close in Esh Winning around 12.30pm. The collision involved a motorbike and a Vauxhall Crossland X.

An ambulance crew attended the scene and an off-duty nurse also provided additional support. One male patient was taken to University Hospital of North Durham with life-threatening injuries.

Police were called shortly after 12.30pm this afternoon (July 1) to reports of a two vehicle collision at Priestburn Close, Esh Winning.

It involved a motorbike and a Vauxhall Crossland X.

The rider was taken by ambulance to University Hospital of North Durham with life-threatening injuries.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 12.27pm this afternoon to reports of a road traffic incident involving a car and a motorbike on the B6302 junction with Priestburn Close, Esh Winning.

"We dispatched one ambulance crew and received support from an off-duty nurse on the scene.

"We took one patient to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment."
