Motorbike rider rushed to hospital after crash with Ford Focus

A motorcycle rider was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash.

Emergency services were called to Bankhall Street, Kirkdale at around 7.15am on Thursday, May 26, after a Ford Focus car and motorcycle were involved in a crash. North West Ambulance service took the driver of the motorbike to hospital with serious injuries that are described as none life threatening.

Police have closed Bankhall Street, at the junction with Forth Street, while recovery work takes place. Officers are advising drivers to find different routes.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "Police are currently in attendance in Kirkdale this morning, Thursday 26 May. At around 7.15am we received a report of a collision involving a Ford Focus car and a motorcycle on Bankhall Street. Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital to be treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

"Bankhall Street is currently closed at the junction with Forth Street while the vehicles are recovered and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. Anyone who witnessed the collision or with any information is asked to DM @MerpolCC, message ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or call 101 with log 123 of Thursday 26 May."
