Motherwell provide injury update as Stuart Kettlewell's options continue to dwindle

Motherwell have confirmed that summer signing Apostolos Stamatelopoulos is set for a six-week spell on the sidelines due to a quad muscle injury.

The Australian international, who arrived following a prolific spell at Newcastle Jets, sustained the injury during the first half of their Scottish Premiership loss against Rangers on Saturday.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell also provided updates on other players currently on the treatment table, with the Motherwell gaffer dealing with an unprecedented early season injury crisis.

John Koutroumbis, who suffered a calf strain early in pre-season, is expected to be out for a couple of months, and he remains on track for that return timeline.

In addition, Ross Callachan is scheduled for a consultation this week regarding his hamstring injury, which will shed more light on his recovery process.

Filip Stuparevic has made progress and is back running this week; however, he has yet to participate in any contact training.

Long-term absentee Callum Slattery is also on the mend, with expectations that the midfielder could return to action by late November or early December.

As Motherwell navigate these injury challenges, fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on their players' recoveries and how that will affect the team's performance in the upcoming fixtures.

The Fir Park club signed forward Tony Watt on loan from Dundee United this week and could still go back in the market before the transfer window slams shut in just over two weeks time.
