Most Instagrammed place outside of London is in Liverpool

A tourist attraction in Liverpool has been named as the most Instagrammed place outside of London.

Earlier this week, the UK’s most popular landmarks for the Instagram generation were revealed– and the results are surprising.

The UK has, of course, always been filled with landmarks, from the likes of Stonehenge to London’s Tower Bridge.

However, the new locations are becoming landmarks in their own right, simply because of how ‘likeable’ they are when it comes to the photo sharing app.

Whether it’s a particular graffiti wall, or a floral display, people will now flock to these locations to take photos for their feeds.

And the more pcitures that are uploaded, the more inspired people are to pay these alternative landmarks a visit.

Premier Inn  has scoured the country for these places and ranked them using the number of photos shared of each one, and how regularly they are searched for on Google.

For Liverpool, Junkyard Golf was the most Instagrammed place in the city and the fourth-most in the UK.

Junkyard Golf Club only opened its doors to the public in Liverpool ONE on March 22.

The crazy golf experience already has venue across the country, including popular branches in Manchester, Leeds and Oxford.

Junkyard includes three 9-hole golf courses created with the craziest reclaimed junk.

While the golf is at the forefront, Junkyard in Liverpool  also has four bars dotted around the course, so that guests can drink while they play.

Below are the top 20 Insta-Landmarks in the UK, with not a single Big Ben or Shard in sight.
